2026-27 Season gets into gear
Although we are enjoying some late summer sun and farmers are still out all hours the ice is cold and we are ready.
The first big occasion was the Channel Trophy which saw Johnny Nelson’s rink emerge victorious after ending +14 against John Currans rink with the other sheet of Allan Dearing v Euan Jones ending in peels.
Congratulations to Johnny Nelson, Alan Beggs, Rob Packham and super sub Eric Beatie.
This was followed by an early match v Dunfermline played over 3 sheets. There was a brief thought at the beginning that we could have put out 4 rinks but on reflection afterwards the final score of 33-11 proved it was probably best we didn’t. While none of the Orwell rinks were victorious president John came close taking it to the last stone and not losing a 5.
Congratulations to Dunfermline, once again the better club on the night.
